Who We Are
The NYABE is an association of professionals who have an interest in business economics. We are represented by approximately 200 members, who are affiliated with more than 100 businesses and other organizations located within New York City and the surrounding area.
back to top Our Mission
The mission of the NYABE, like that of our parent organization the NABE, is to provide leadership in the use and understanding of economics. Every month of our active session-September to June-we invite a prominent business economist to speak on a topic of their expertise. Most presentations occur during lunch, facilitating networking with other members, as well as, providing a relaxed atmosphere for the question and answer period with the invited speaker.
back to top Who Can Join
Anyone who has an interest in the field of business economics is invited to join the NYABE. Membership forms are available on-line and should be printed and sent in with memebership dues.
Membership dues are not pro-rated. Dues cover the active calendar period of September 1 to August 31.
If you have any questions concerning dues or membership in general please contact the NYABE Treasurer.

Meetings
| |
The NYABE hosts monthly luncheons that are focused on the contributions of a prominent business economist. Luncheons begin with an informal reception where members can network and reacquaint themselves. This is generally followed by a sit-down lunch and a presentation by the invited speaker. Monthly luncheon addresses generally cover broad topics.
The Association's policy is not to pay honoraria or fees to speakers. They are, however, reimbursed for travel and lodging expenses if their employers do not assume such charges. |
Workshops
| |
Informal workshops are directed to special interests. Workshops have ranged from panel discussions related to talking to the press to breakfasts with new authors of books in the field of business economics.
Advance reservations are required for all luncheon and workshop meetings.
Since NYABE is required to pay for all meals that are ordered, registrants are responsible for the meal charge unless a cancellation is received prior to the meeting. Late reservations and cancellations can be made by telephoning (212) 986-9300. |
