Dear Colleagues,
I am very pleased to welcome you to the 2009-2010 session of the New York Association for Business Economics.
As most of us have seen, NYABE membership has strong benefits, with considerable networking opportunities and a stimulating calendar of speaker events. Thus, I urge you to review and renew your membership status. Please do take a moment to fill out the application form .
Turning to the agenda, it is the NYABE tradition to begin the year with the presentation of the Butler Award, which will take place on Thursday, September 10th, 2009. We are pleased to announce that the 2009 recipient of this award is Professor Frederic S. Mishkin, the Alfred Lerner Professor of Banking and Financial Institutions at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. From September 2006 to August 2008 he was a member (governor) of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

- March 3,2010: Dennis Lockhart, President and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta

Other sessions are in the works. Please check back here for details. We welcome your suggestions and involvement about speakers, topics, and venues.
Additionally, as part of our commitment to our local chapter and the constituents we serve, we will seek to enhance coordination with other NABE chapters on topics such as mentoring, personal development, and education.
